Danní Camargo, originally from the lush Southern part of Brazil, found inspiration in both nature's beauty and the urban landscape of Curitiba, the megalopolis capital. As a naturalized American, Camargo's artistic journey led him to develop a unique style he affectionately calls "The Comic-Mystic Surrealism." This blend combines complexity in substance with elegantly simple forms.
His work, whether expressed through paintings, sculptures, or drawings, weaves a consistent thread of character and genuine emotion. From ancient entities to mysticism, faith, dreams, struggles, and love, each piece seems to exist long before it emerges into the light. Danní's creative process involves deep listening, tuning in, and seeking the elusive form—an artistry akin to coaxing hidden truths from the vast fabric of cosmic energy.
Much like our primal ancestors hunting or creating fire, his work is a direct result of this quest for meaning and expression. His pursuit of superior degrees in industrial design and printmaking in Brazil laid the foundation for his artistic journey. Later, he ventured into the realm of architecture in the United States.
Among the immortals who have influenced Dannís artistic vision, we find Hans Ruedi Giger, renowned for his dark and surreal biomechanical art; Maurits Cornelis Escher, the master of mind-bending tessellations and impossible geometry; and the genius of Salvador Dalí, whose dreamlike landscapes continues to captivate his mind.
